Die Cutting
The structural essence of a package
Packaging that is cut and scored correctly saves time and money. Die cutting is the process of cutting outlines of the box and creasing the bends and folds in the box. Decades ago UPB created a division to produce all elements of the die, determining that an in-house die operation cuts days off package production while assuring quality.
Our technologically sophisticated die operation includes Barco software, Data Technology 1200 Plotter for CAD, an Elcede Router for creating make-ready, a Gerber computerized die router and the computerized Adams rule bender.
All die making and associated cutting/creasing tools are made for our customers on-site. UPB employs six Bobst die cutters: one 50", two 41", two 51" and a 56" blanker.
